Effective: June 1, 2026

This site, admiralvanlines.com, is owned and run by Admiral Van Lines, a moving company based in Long Island City and working New York City and the metro. Browsing these pages or submitting an estimate request means you agree to the terms below.

Who the contract is actually with

No ambiguity on this point: the moving company is us. The job runs on trucks we own, the crews on them are on our payroll, and every operating credential is registered to this company:

  • New York credentialNYSDOT Mover Authority
  • Interstate credentialUSDOT and MC authority
  • The agreementMade directly with Admiral Van Lines
  • FounderVincent Russo, in New York since 2008

Your move never gets routed through any broker. The order of things is simple: you submit the request, Rachel works up a flat written price and sends it over, and once you accept, the moving contract sits squarely with Admiral and you, nobody wedged in between.

Pricing the move is free of charge

It costs nothing to learn what your move runs, and the job hides no extra fees:

  • No fee to confirm a booking
  • No fee for paperwork
  • No slice taken off the top of any bill
  • What you owe is solely the flat figure on your binding quote, settled once the last box leaves the truck

The quoted number holds steady

Whatever your binding quote names is what applies, weighed against the inventory and the access conditions noted on it.

  • If the job changes in a real way, a full room gained or lost, or the access proving different from what we were told, a fresh quote reaches you ahead of the scheduled day.
  • Once the truck is unloaded, no additional bill appears unless you okayed it in advance.

Reserving a date and backing out

A refundable deposit, usually $100 to $200, holds your place on the calendar.

Your situation What follows
About three days’ notice ahead of the booked date You get the full deposit back
Cancelling the morning of the move Some may be kept to cover crew hours already blocked off

The terms that actually bind are on your printed quote

Your quote carries the exact cancellation language. What you see here only sketches the typical case; that document is the one that governs.

What protects your belongings

Every job starts from the federal baseline and adds $1M of cargo coverage on the load.

Option What you get
Baseline interstate released value $0.60 a pound, the federal default unless you upgrade
Paid full-value protection (1–3%) Declared-worth coverage on the whole load, sensible for fragile or high-value pieces

A claim goes straight to our Long Island City office, has a nine-month window, and never gets routed through an outside party at any point.

Dealing straight on the form

Filling out the pricing request comes with a couple of expectations on your end:

  • Give accurate details, both ZIPs, your target day, and an inventory that matches reality.
  • Leave out fake or machine-generated duplicate submissions; bot entries get blocked.

We keep the right to decline any job for any reason allowed under New York statutes and federal regulation.

Agreeing to calls and texts

Sending the form clears Admiral to follow up on the number or email you gave, automated SMS included where it fits. Standard message and data rates may apply.

Turning the outreach off

The rest of how we treat your data is laid out in our Privacy Policy.

Treat this as information, not as advice

Read everything here, the answers in the FAQ, the route descriptions, the area guides, as background on moving and nothing further. It is not tax, legal, or financial counsel. Should your move run into probate, a split, or a company holding, speak with a licensed professional before you proceed.

The boundary on what we are liable for

Three things together fix how far Admiral’s responsibility reaches on work performed under a binding quote:

  • Whatever terms are printed on the quote itself
  • For any leg that crosses a state line, the federal household-goods rules at 49 CFR § 375 et seq.
  • For any leg that stays within the state, the parallel New York moving regulation

As far as the law permits, what we can be held liable for tops out at the cargo-coverage amount written on your quote.

Changes down the road

This wording gets revised from time to time, and the date at the top moves with it. Continuing to use the site, or sending another request later, counts as your agreement.

Reaching us

Got something here you want to raise? Our office line, (888) 711-4778, takes calls, and [email protected] handles anything in writing. By mail: Admiral Van Lines, 47-30 29th St, Suite 200, Long Island City, NY 11101.

One fixed written number per job, handled by New York’s own movers.

Drop the two ZIP codes plus your target date; usually that locked number is back in your inbox within an hour, spelled out line by line. Trucks, movers, the NYSDOT registration, the federal MC and the USDOT number — every one of them carries Admiral’s name.
